Meet Marconi Vieira
Senior Director, Site Manager at our corn processing facility in Castro, Paraná, Brazil
Marconi recently celebrated nearly 30 years with Cargill—a journey that began when he joined as a refinery operator at age 17. Today, he leads one of our key sites in the Starches & Sweeteners division, where corn is transformed into essential ingredients. His story reflects Cargill’s commitment to growth, resilience, and creating inclusive environments where every individual can thrive.
What aspects of Cargill's culture make you feel welcomed, valued, and heard?
There are many aspects of Cargill’s culture that make me feel welcomed, valued, and heard. I want to highlight our core values: Doing the Right Thing, Putting People First, and Reaching Higher. Cargill is a place where I believe everyone can bring their whole selves to work. I am proud to work for a company committed to fostering a respectful, safe, and inclusive workplace, where I feel a strong sense of belonging.
How do you help create a more inclusive work environment at Cargill?
At Cargill, I have learned that our actions must match our values. We are all invited to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, no matter our role or the challenges we face. I interact daily with around 300 people, which gives me many opportunities to ensure they feel respected, included, and represented while working here. Every day, I strive to engage, develop, and reinforce a culture where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and heard.
How has Cargill supported your journey in fostering an inclusive environment?
I feel strongly supported and encouraged by Cargill to do my best in promoting inclusion. Everyone has access to learning through resources like Cargill websites, social media, MyLearning, Viva Engage, and inclusion moments. There is also a strong network of employees who are committed to fostering inclusive workplaces all around the world.
I started as a janitor and became a site manager. Every step of my journey has been driven by purpose, resilience, and the belief that everyone deserves a place where they feel they belong.
