Meet Trey Lachicotte
Advisor, Real Estate Program Management
Trey joined Cargill four years ago, bringing over two decades of global leadership experience. He plays a key role in driving inclusive initiatives through the Veteran and Military Support Network (VMSN). His journey reflects Cargill’s commitment to empowering individuals to lead with purpose, foster belonging, and create meaningful impact across communities.
What aspects of Cargill's culture make you feel welcomed, valued, and heard?
The inclusivity demonstrated through leadership actions and communication, along with the prioritization of diversity and inclusion, sets a tone of respect and openness across the company. Cargill encourages open dialogue and feedback through various channels, such as town halls, engagement events, and team discussions, which allow employees to be heard and valued. This openness enables us to influence policy updates that reflect both social and business needs. Cargill’s commitment extends beyond the workplace, engaging with external stakeholders and communities to promote social responsibility and diversity. It is because of this mindset and culture that I truly feel welcomed, valued, and heard.
How do you help create a more inclusive work environment at Cargill?
I am truly honored to be part of the diversity, equity, and inclusion community, with the opportunity to educate, inform, and connect the broader Cargill team to Veterans, their families, and those who support them. The Veteran and Military Support Network (VMSN) has done a tremendous job building a sustainable mentorship program, boosting hiring efforts, and creating events that foster inclusion among other BRGs, the broader employee base, and external community partners. Giving back to Veterans for their sacrifice and dedication is just one small way I can say, “THANK YOU.”
How has Cargill supported your journey in fostering an inclusive environment?
Collective wisdom is often overlooked in society, but Cargill truly embraces diverse opinions, thoughts, and expressions. Because of this cultural value, I have been able to grow and learn. Cargill leadership gave me an amazing opportunity to help grow VMSN in a way that fosters belonging, advocates for inclusive policies, and provides a platform for all voices. The leadership’s open-mindedness allowed me to hold leadership roles within both Animal Nutrition and Health (ANH) and VMSN, for which I am forever grateful.
I’m double blessed—to serve those who’ve served and to work for a company that puts people above all else.
