Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Consultant, Operational Excellence Engineer supports the smooth operation of the organization’s digital technology environment by performing complex operational tasks related to contracts, billing, financial tracking, and vendor management. With minimal supervision, this role manages operational issues, resolves vendor and billing escalations, and supports the execution of contractual and financial processes to ensure accurate financial outcomes and operational stability.
This role collaborates with vendors and internal teams to guide contracts through the management lifecycle, document financial and operational issues, and apply governance practices that improve execution, transparency, and compliance across the technology environment.
Key Accountabilities
- MONITORING INFRASTRUCTURE PERFORMANCE:
Monitors the operational and financial health of the technology environment by tracking vendor performance, contract utilization, billing accuracy, and financial commitments to ensure efficient and compliant operations. - TROUBLESHOOTING & RESOLVING ISSUES:
Diagnoses and resolves complex operational and financial issues related to contracts, leases, purchase orders, and vendor billing, including performing root cause analysis and implementing process improvements to prevent future occurrences. - INCIDENT MANAGEMENT:
Leads monitoring and response to operational incidents related to vendor performance, billing discrepancies, purchase order failures, and contractual non-compliance, including categorizing issues and facilitating timely resolution with internal teams and vendors. - PROTOCOL ANALYSIS:
Performs detailed analysis of contractual, financial, and operational protocols to ensure proper execution of agreements and adherence to enterprise standards across vendors and services. - CONFIGURATION & DEPLOYMENT:
Supports the setup and operational deployment of vendors, services, contracts, and leases by ensuring financial structures, purchase orders, and billing models are properly configured and aligned with approved agreements. - COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION:
Partners with vendors, third-party service providers, service owners, and internal teams to resolve complex operational and financial issues, providing effective communication, coordination, and timely updates. - DOCUMENTATION & REPORTING:
Validates documentation related to contracts, leases, financial obligations, escalations, and performance trends, and prepares reports to inform decision making and improve operational effectiveness. - BACKUP & DISASTER RECOVERY:
Develops and maintains operational contingency plans related to contract gaps, billing disruptions, vendor failures, and lease expirations to ensure continuity of services and financial controls. - PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Leads operational projects and initiatives related to vendor management, contract optimization, financial governance, and process improvements, delivering outcomes on time and within scope. - AUTOMATION & SCRIPTING:
Develops and supports automation solutions to streamline contract tracking, billing reconciliation, reporting, and operational workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
