Digital Workplace Operations Lead
Job Purpose and Impact
As an Advisor, Operations Lead within the Digital Workplace team, you will serve as a senior individual contributor responsible for the operational health, governance, and continuous improvement of Cargill's endpoint and collaboration environment. This role sits at the intersection of strategy and execution — you will translate roadmap priorities into operationally sound, day-to-day practices while acting as a trusted subject matter expert across engineering teams, business stakeholders, and global service partners.
You will bring structure to complexity, data to decisions, and clarity to a fast-moving transformation — all without direct reports, but with significant influence across the teams and leaders you partner with.
Key Accountabilities
- Operational Excellence
- Own and improve Digital Workplace operations, covering device lifecycle, provisioning, depot management, endpoint governance, and collaboration platforms.
- Track KPIs and SLAs, identify risks, and drive improvements with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain standardized procedures and act as an escalation point, ensuring timely, accountable resolution of complex operational issues across stakeholders.
- Collaboration Platform Governance
- Support governance of the Microsoft 365 environment, including SharePoint permissions, OneDrive, Teams lifecycle, and security groups.
- Collaborate with Security and IAM teams to ensure data protection and access control.
- Drive attestation, automation, and audits, while aligning with Entra ID and HR systems to ensure accurate, compliant access governance.
- Governance & Compliance
- Support the design and execution of governance frameworks for endpoint access, device compliance, collaboration platform policies, and Digital Workplace standards in alignment with Cargill's security and IT requirements.
- Partner with Information Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure operational practices meet internal policy and external regulatory requirements across a global footprint.
- Program & Stakeholder Support
- Collaborate with program teams to ensure operational readiness and seamless transition to steady-state operations.
- Advise leadership with data-driven insights on service health and transformation progress.
- Engage stakeholders and end users to gather feedback, drive change, and promote adoption of modern workplace tools across a global workforce.
- Continuous Improvement
- Lead operational improvement initiatives using structured problem-solving to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across workflows in partnership with engineering teams.
- Stay updated on Microsoft 365, Nexthink, and PCaaS trends, translating emerging capabilities into actionable operational recommendations for leadership.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field — or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, Digital Workplace, or endpoint management in a large enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing device lifecycle, provisioning processes, and endpoint governance at scale (10,000+ devices preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 platform operations, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange/mail governance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize operational data into actionable insights and executive-ready communications.
- Proven ability to work effectively across matrixed, global organizations and manage multiple priorities without direct authority.
- Experience with ITSM frameworks (ITIL or equivalent) and operational reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Windows 365 (W365), Entra ID (Azure AD), and/or Nexthink.
- Familiarity with PCaaS (PC as a Service) operating models and global vendor management.
- Experience designing or operating SharePoint permissions governance programs, including oversharing remediation, attestation workflows, and automated access controls.
- Experience supporting large-scale technology transformation programs, particularly mid-flight rather than greenfield.
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
- Microsoft 365 certifications (e.g., MS-700, MS-900, or equivalent) a plus.
- Demonstrated experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent).
Competencies for Success
- Operational Rigor — You bring discipline and structure to ambiguous environments, translating strategy into repeatable, scalable processes that hold up across a global, multi-industry organization.
- Stakeholder Influence — As a senior IC, you earn trust and drive alignment without formal authority, communicating clearly across engineering teams, business leaders, and end users alike.
- Breadth & Curiosity — You're comfortable owning both device operations and collaboration platform governance — and you actively seek to connect the dots between them.
- Ownership Mindset — You take accountability for outcomes, follow through on commitments, and proactively surface issues before they become problems.
- Data-Driven Thinking — You use metrics and evidence to drive decisions, tell compelling stories, and demonstrate operational value to leadership.
