Job Purpose and Impact
The Microsoft Exchange and Collaboration Tools Technical Product Owner is responsible for providing technical leadership, governance, and execution oversight for the development, and optimization of enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms, including Microsoft Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, and related services. This role acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, IT teams, and end-users, ensuring that collaboration solutions align with organizational goals, enhance productivity, and deliver a seamless user experience.
Key Accountabilities
- Product Strategy and Roadmap: Define and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Microsoft Exchange and collaboration tools, in alignment with business objectives and user needs.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business leaders, IT architects, security teams, and end-users to gather requirements, prioritize features, and ensure solutions deliver tangible value.
- Platform Management: Oversee the lifecycle management of Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and other collaboration platforms, including upgrades, integrations, capacity planning, and compliance.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver new features, integrations, and enhancements, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- User Experience Optimization: Champion user-centric design and adoption strategies, including training, documentation, and support to maximize engagement and satisfaction.
- Security and Compliance: Work closely with cybersecurity and risk teams to ensure collaboration tools meet security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with Microsoft and third-party vendors, evaluating new solutions and negotiating contracts as needed.
- Performance Monitoring: Track platform performance, user feedback, and key metrics to drive continuous improvement and resolve issues proactively.
- AI Literacy: Experience in developing and managing AI-powered tools and applications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing Microsoft Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, or similar collaboration platforms in an enterprise environment.
- Proven track record as a technical product owner, product manager, or IT project leader.
- Strong understanding of cloud technologies, Office 365 suite, and enterprise IT operations.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration.
- Knowledge of information security and regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Preferred Skills
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS‑203, MS‑700, MS‑101) or equivalent hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft 365 collaboration services at enterprise scale.
- Proven experience leading and governing integrations between Microsoft collaboration platforms (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint) and third‑party applications using Microsoft Graph and approved security models.
- Strong ability to evaluate complex technical, security, and business requirements and translate them into clear implementation guidance, service designs, and operational decisions.
- Experience driving platform changes through established governance, change management, and adoption processes in partnership with security, compliance, and operations teams.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills applied to large‑scale collaboration environments, incidents, and service improvements.
- Excellent project execution and cross‑functional collaboration skills, working effectively with infrastructure, security, identity, vendors, and business stakeholders.
