JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT

The trainee will be an integral part of the team and have have the opportunity to get a good understanding of our business, from origination to trading, specific skills, knowledge, and attitudes that will enable to transition to various experiences within Cargill. We offer a unique and exceptional learning curve opportunity within the Agricultural Supply Chain enterprise. We are looking to hire a Commercial Trainee to build foundational merchandising and trading knowledge within the Cargill Agricultural Supply Chain Latam business group. This is a unique opportunity to obtain such as broad and deep professional training in dynamic and fast environments where collaborators are encouraged to make decisions, build hands-on experience, and pursue international careers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

•            Collaborate with transportation and logistics, quality assurance, customer managers and credit manager to ensure efficient execution and resolve routine problems.

•            Help plan purchases and transportation to maximize profitable use of stock and storage facilities.

•            Enter most routine data and run specialty reports from our contract management databases and systems.

•            Research and analyze various freight opportunities in the marketplace to maximize margin.

•            Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

•            Assist Traders in analysis of information on the variables that affect the components of the price of commodities.

•            Assist in the buy process of physical product from origination offices.

•            Input product line position and exposure daily management (physical and freight) according to Traders instructions.

•            Work in conjunction with the traders/merchants in determine fob/freight backstop for other merchants at destination including quality specifications and market analysis

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•            Bachelor’s degree in, finance, economics, engineering or other relevant program

•            Business fluency in English.

•            Geographically mobile and willingness to travel

•            Strong Analytical and quantitative skills

•            Strong interpersonal skills, team player

•            Ability to deal with ambiguity, effective decision making and problem-solving skills

•            Appetite for risk, comfortable taking and managing risks. Entrepreneurial spirit.

•            High sense of curiosity, challenging, inquisitive

•            Strong oral and written communication, persuasion and influencing skills

•            Highly motivated, self-starter and drive to succeed

•            Displays leadership traits and drive to learn and grow.

•            Ability and passion to work in a diverse, multicultural, and fast paced environment
