Job Purpose and Impact

The Regional Sales Manager will focus on large foodservice customers within the designated geographic territory or market.  In this role, you will handle critical or complex products that require excellent client relationship skills to maintain competitive positioning.  The role will be responsible for driving incremental volume and margin growth by selling across multiple product lines to key distributors, operators, regional chains and segments.  This is a remote position and can be based anywhere in the region’s territory (NC, SC, GA).

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop a plan to establish and maintain account relationships and meet personal sales targets.
  • Build a business plan for each key account.
  • Coordinate use of resources to provide value added services to customers.
  • Develop strong client relationships that provide significant input to planning product, price and service strategies.
  • Support supervisor and other sales professionals in developing new market opportunities in the designated territory or market.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff
  • Manage an effective selling organization through our broker partner teams in each market.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in the foodservice industry
  • Understanding of foodservice distribution and how to effectively and successfully work with distributors
  • Understanding of the commercial side of Cargill Foodservice products
  • Culinary experience or degree, understanding of food safety and safe handling techniques
  • Basic understanding of commodity markets and risk management
  • Sales effectiveness or other formal sales training program
  • Experience using Salesforce or other sales tracking tool
