Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Supervisor, Inbound and Outbound Operations provides strategic operational oversight for receiving, unloading, and distribution of refined edible oils to customers by truck and rail.  Located in Charlotte, NC, the Food Solutions, Edible Oils, North America facility manages multiple processes for refining, blending, and storing oils.  In this role, you will manage a team ensuring accountability to standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee operations for the Loading and Transport team. Ensure all shifts of the 24/7 facility are following policies and procedures related to employee, food safety and environmental compliance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in customer service, transportation, operations and packaging to ensure communication, accountability and timely delivery to our customers.  Partner effectively with maintenance, engineering, and the plant leadership team to provide input into the development of plant capital investment strategies.
  • Drive engagement and development of your team. Set goals for team performance and incorporate skills training and mentorship based on the unique needs of the team.
  • Oversee production outcomes, quantity and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications.
  • Coach a team through hands-on leadership. Build team acumen in process troubleshooting, logistics, and issue resolution to ensure a strong, customer-focused and driven team.
  • Accountable for the implementation of non-base capital investments for the loading and transport area or for multiple shifts.
  • Ensure ongoing review of key performance indicators with focus on continuous improvements in site operational targets.
  • Develops and oversees operational plans and monitors routine operations for the team across multiple processes and shifts.
  • Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Ability to be on call 24/7
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Experience with budgeting and operational planning
  • Experience in Railyard services
  • Experience in a food or chemical processing environment
  • Experience working in a union facility
