Job Purpose and Impact

The National Agronomy Lead is responsible for shaping and executing strategic agronomy initiatives that drive business growth and innovation. This roleis accountable for the delivery of consistent technical training programs for the demand creation team and collaborates with cross-functional teams to align agronomic strategies with the company's overarching objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan and organize consistent agronomic technical training of the demand creation team that is aligned with crop inputs growth business plan focused on selling outcomes.
  • Develop, plan and drive better agronomic solutions and decision making with the demand creation team and farm customers through the implementation of strategic digital tools.   
  • Bring in depth agronomic as well as deep market knowledge to define product offerings and positioning, to improve crop production and profitability in collaboration with Crop Inputs Portfolio Managers. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners focused on Agronomy.
  • Coach and support the development of the crop inputs demand creation team on the delivery of best-in-class agronomic customer service using Cargill's digital agronomy solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma/Certificate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada 
  • CCA(Certified Crop Advisor) or PAg (Professional Agrologist) or RTAg 
  • Able and willing to travel domestically for business purposes within Western Canada.
  • Possess a valid Canadian drivers license in good standing authorizing you to drive independently during your employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy
  • Two years of agronomy supervisory experience.
  • Good understanding of agronomic services, farm customers and the agriculture industry.

Position Information

  • This position offers a remote work opportunity in Western Canada (Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan).
