Job Purpose and Impact
The Buyer is responsible for strategic sourcing activities within CBI, primarily focused on Plant Materials & Services (PM&S), including Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO), OPEX services, CAPEX projects, and selected Corporate Materials & Services (CM&S) categories.
Based in Gouda, you will execute medium complexity indirect procurement processes and support the delivery of defined regional and global category strategies by providing site level inputs under guidance. You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support effective sourcing outcomes, compliance with regulatory and sustainability requirements, and alignment with operational needs, with coordination across sites as required.
Key Accountabilities
- Primarily support one key factory within the EMEA region, with the scope expanding to support additional sites provided under direction of the regional lead.
- Execute defined indirect procurement strategies in line with approved category strategies and best practices.
- Support supplier relationship management (SRM) activities, by monitoring performance metrics and escalating risks or issues.
- Work closely with cross functional teams and local plant stakeholders to support continuous improvement and cost optimization initiatives, ensuring business continuity and operational alignment with category strategy.
- Execute low to medium complexity sourcing events across indirect procurement categories, and support more complex sourcing initiatives under the guidance of the global tag.
- Utilize market intelligence and supplier benchmarking to conduct spend analysis, negotiate commercial terms, recommend supplier awards, and oversee contract execution.
- Execute the implementation of regional sourcing decisions and support the execution of global sourcing strategies.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable governance, policy, and risk requirements, escalating issues appropriately to ensure business continuity.
- Prepare site level inputs to support the CBI category opportunity pipeline.
- Manage ongoing local and regional supplier and stakeholder relationships to deliver sustained value ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulatory requirements, including innovation and sustainability objectives.
- Support multifunctional teams and consider value engineering and TCO initiatives by understanding plant operations, maintenance needs, and service requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities for non-contracted materials, goods, and services are conducted in line with established governance, policies, and approval frameworks.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in indirect procurement (PM&S / CM&S) at a similar level, preferably within chemical or manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated contract negotiation and supplier management experience.
- Practice knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Power Point).
- Fluent English and Dutch.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of local labor legislation.
- NEVI, CIPS certified or equivalent.
- SAP Ariba practice knowledge.
- Working proficiency in Finnish.
