Turnaround lead
Job Purpose and Impact
The Turnaround Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of plant turnarounds, ensuring alignment with the Turnaround Excellence Project objectives. This role is critical for delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective shutdowns and startups while minimizing production downtime. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will drive continuous improvement in turnaround processes and performance.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead Turnaround Planning and Execution: Develop and implement turnaround strategies, schedules, and resource plans to meet safety, quality, and budget targets.
- Ensure Compliance and Safety: Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to regulatory and company standards throughout all turnaround phases.
- Manage Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors to align turnaround scope and priorities.
- Monitor and Report Performance: Track progress against KPIs, manage risks, and provide transparent reporting to leadership.
- Drive Turnaround Excellence: Implement best practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize future turnarounds.
- Team Leadership: Direct and develop the turnaround team, including contractors, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability.
- Budget and Cost Control: Oversee turnaround budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for savings without compromising safety or quality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in turnaround or shutdown management within a chemical or industrial plant.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, project controls, and safety regulations.
- Fluent in English and Dutch
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading large-scale turnarounds with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with turnaround excellence frameworks and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to manage contractors and complex logistics.
