Overview

Cargill operates some of the most technologically advanced production plants in the world. We need dependable, efficient, safety-minded individuals to join our team. General Operators are vital to our daily operations. Examples of roles include preparing meat to be cooked, palletizing boxed product, administration work, using scanners and computers to track product, and verifying quality and accuracy. Please note, specific roles will vary greatly by plant and location. Safety is always our number one priority, and no matter your experience level, we'll train you for success. We are hiring students for General Production from May 1st – September 1st, 2026 for a variety of non-Coop/Internship roles and responsibilities within this title.

Job Location: Guelph, Ontario
Job Type:Temporary/Contract Full Time/Part Time
Shift(s) Available: Various Days/Afternoons (6:00am/6:30am – 2:30pm/3:00pm or 3:00pm/3:15pm-11:30pm/11:45pm)
Compensation Range: $21.90 - $22.50 / hour
Anticipated Start Dates: May 1st & June 1st, 2026

Incentive Information

Principal Accountabilities

  • Ensuring food safety and quality
  • Maintaining a safe work environment
  • Trimming and cutting meat (Training provided)
  • Assisting Machine Operator
  • Picking, sorting, labeling, bagging, boxing, packing, pushing, pulling and lifting product weighing 20lbs-60lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Working with raw meat particularly but not limited to Beef and Pork
  • Ability to work in temperature controlled environments (Hot/Cold 0-4 Celsius)
  • Performing repetitive labour in a fast-paced environment
  • Cleaning and housekeeping
  • Other duties assigned by Supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be currently legal to work in Canada
  • Must be comfortable with picking, sorting, labeling, boxing and packing raw meat products
  • Must be able to push, pull and lift product weighing 20 – 60lbs with or without a reasonable accommodation
