Week 2: Thursday, Friday, Saturday (36 hrs.)
Pay Rate: $37.90/hr
Sign-on Bonus: $3,000 (net)
License Required: 3rd Class Stationary Engineer or a B Class Refrigeration License 

About the Role
Preform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment safely while abiding by all policies & procedures. As B Class Refrigeration Operator, reporting to the Chief Refrigeration Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation/maintenance of all refrigeration systems, boilers and auxiliary equipment.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Maintain refrigeration with ammonia cooling and compressed air systems
  • Follow all safety, food safety, and environmental regulations
  • Ensure proper operation of plant and office HVAC systems
  • Maintain building, roof, floor and report substandard conditions
  • Knowledge of TSSA standards and PSM (Process Safety Management) requirements 
  • Ability to work in varied environmental conditions such as but not limited to dust, noise, hot and cold 
  • Comfortable working in a raw meat (beef & pork) manufacturing plant 
  • Basic computer and typing skills
  • Proficient in the English language (reading and writing) 
  • Perform emergency duties if required and understand various uses of fire-fighting equipment 
  • Complete other related duties as assigned by the Chief Refrigeration Engineer

Required Qualifications

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • 3rd Class Stationary Engineer or a B Class Refrigeration License is required 
  • Ability to work continental night shift (12 hours) 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in food manufacturing environment and CFIA regulations 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a licensed Refrigeration Operator 
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Available to work overtime and weekends (if required) to meet business needs
