This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products. 

JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT

The Control System Modernization Senior Engineer will be responsible for planning, supporting, and, when applicable, executing engineering deliverables within one or more of our core technology or engineering areas. We are looking for a professional who can develop and apply engineering standards and procedures, offering guidance on matters within the engineering field.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Plan, design, and estimate time and cost for projects, overseeing the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems, and components.
  • Analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems, including investigating the causes of component failures.
  • Design and enhance manufacturing processes, instruments, and equipment, ensuring product quality through testing.
  • Independently manage complex issues with minimal supervision, escalating only the most critical matters to the appropriate personnel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant work experience.
  • Additional minimum qualifications may apply.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience with DCS control systems and PLCs, especially Emerson DeltaV.
