Packaging Executive
Job Purpose and Impact
To ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant operation of packaging lines by managing manpower, materials, machines, quality, safety, and documentation to achieve daily production targets.
Key Accountabilities
Packaging Operations
- Supervise daily packaging line operations to meet production plan vs actual targets.
- Ensure correct packing configuration, labeling, coding, traceability, and lot identification.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores for uninterrupted operations.
- Monitor line efficiency, downtime, rejections, and yield losses.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GMP, FSMS, FSSAI/ISO standards, and internal SOPs.
- Verify weight control, seal integrity, label accuracy, and packing quality.
- Handle audits (internal / external) related to packaging and documentation.
Manpower Management
- Allocate and manage operators, helpers, and contractual manpower.
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and PPE usage.
Machine & Equipment Coordination
- Ensure proper operation of packing machines, printers, coders, conveyors, etc.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Verify machine changeovers and line clearance before starting batches.
Packing Material Control
- Ensure availability and correct usage of packing materials (bags, cartons, films, inks, labels).
- Control material wastage and perform daily reconciliation with Stores.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain batch records, production reports, downtime logs, and checklist compliance.
- Prepare daily MIS on output, efficiency, manpower, and losses.
- Participate in data analysis for continuous improvement initiatives.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure 5S implementation and clean, organized packaging areas.
- Enforce safety norms and report near misses or hazards.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree / diploma in Food Technology / Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
- 5-7 years of experience in Packaging Operations in FMCG or Food.
- Effective communication and team development skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in GMP / ISO / FSMS preferred
