Job Purpose and Impact

The Utility Engineer will be aligned to Cargill’s Bioindustrial plant at Kurkumbh, Maharashtra and responsible for operation and maintenance of utility and mechanical systems of the plant.

Key Accountabilities

•    To ensure uninterrupted and quality supply of utilities to support continuous plant operation.
•    Ensure all utility equipment, including boilers, compressors, chillers and thermal fluid heaters remain compliant with regulatory standards.
•    Perform regular inspections, audits, and timely maintenance to meet operational and safety standards.
•    Maintain records of boiler operations, fuel consumption and maintenance schedules.
•    Conduct daily inspection, monitoring pressure, temperature, fuel levels and water levels.
•    Operations and maintenance of thermic fluid heaters and minimize downtime.
•    Responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance of coal, biomass and multi fuels in the plant.
•    Work with the maintenance team to identify areas for cost saving, safety issues and ensure implementation of the same.  
•    Ensure records of all service, maintenance and refurbishing  works carried out on machinery are maintained.
•    Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Full time Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Years of experience: 2-5 years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience as a utility engineer in managing operations related to booilers, thermic fluid heaters, coal, biomass and multifuel.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a utility engineer in the above segment in the Chemical/Pharma/Fertilizer/Oil & Gas/Petrochemicals sectors.
  • Experience to trial, testing and commissioning of equipment and the completed project.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluency in Marathi is an added advantage.
  • Open to working at the plant 6 days a week.
  • A certificate in broiler operations is an added advantage.
