Job Purpose and Impact

The Farmer Development Senior Assistant is responsible for supporting and empowering farmers through training, monitoring agronomy activities, and coordinating programs that enhance productivity and promote sustainable farming. This role also involves fostering strong relationships with cooperatives to drive long‑term growth and success. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as an effective communication bridge between company management and farmer institutions.

  • Build strong trust at the farmer cooperative level so that farmers see the company as their main partner in voicing aspirations or resolving issues.

  • Clearly communicate and explain legal provisions, agreements, and company policies in ways that are easy for farmers to understand and accept.

  • Engage and coordinate with cooperative leaders in preparing and approving work programs for each period.

  • Work closely with cooperative leaders to ensure all plantation activities run according to agreed work plans.

  • Coordinate with the estate operations team to ensure cost allocations are recorded under the correct accounts.

  • Maintain communication and coordination with relevant external institutions as needed for programs and operations.

  • Prepare regular progress reports and identify challenges faced by farmers and do follow‑up action.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (S1) preferable majoring in agronomy or agriculture or equivalent experience.
  • Preferable have 3 years of working experience in managing plasma plantations.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Proficient in using computers and office applications (Microsoft Office, email, etc.).

  • Solid knowledge of best management practices in oil palm plantation management.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels in the plant

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in plasma plantation management, especially under KKPA or partnership schemes.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking in decision-making.
  • Free from conflicts of interest in carrying out duties and responsibilities.
