Job Purpose and Impact

The Transportation and Logistics Associate Director will control the flow of raw and finished goods, services and information from beginning to end in order to meet customer or manufacturing requirements for less complex products or customers. In this role, you will direct and run the activities of the team who evaluates distribution and transportation operations, data and less complex facilities to identify the most effective distribution and transportation patterns for products. You will use broad knowledge to establish policies appropriate for the function and interpret and recommend modifications to company policies and practices.

Key Accountabilities

    • Logistics Strategy & Network Optimization
      • Define and execute regional logistic strategy aligned with business growth and supply chain objectives.
      • Lead network design and optimization 
      • Drive efficiency through consolidation, standardization, and automation initiatives.
    • Transportation & Distribution Management
      • Oversee end-to-end transportation ensuring service reliability and cost efficiency.
      • Optimize routing, load planning, and carrier allocation.
      • Ensure business continuity through risk assessment and mitigation planning.
    • Warehousing & Inventory Flow
      • Lead warehouse operations with focus on efficiency, safety, and compliance. 
      • Optimize inventory positioning, flow, and throughput across the network
      • Drive improvement in stock accuracy, cycle counting, and inventory visibility.
    • Cost Management & Productivity
      • Own regional logistics cost performance and deliver annual productivity targets.
      • Lead and deliver cost optimization projects.
      • Benchmark logistic costs and drive CI programs.
    • Supplier & Contract Management
      • Lead strategic relationships with logistic service providers.
      • Define supplier strategy, selection criteria, and performance management framework. 
      • Drive supplier performance through KPIs, scorecards, and regular reviews.
      • Partner with procurement on contract negotiations, ensuring value, compliance, and risk mitigation.
      • Develop long-term partnerships to improve service, cost, and innovation.
    • Integrated Business Planning (IBP) & S&OE
      • Represent logistics in IBP and S&OE cycles. 
      • Provide visibility on logistics constraints, risks, and cost implications.
      • Enable cross-functional decision-making on service, cost, and inventory trade-offs.
      • Ensure logistics readiness for demand variability, promotions, and new product launches.
    • Performance Management & Governance
      • Define and track logistics KPIs.
      • Establish strong governance and process discipline across countries.
      • Standardize logistics processes and reporting across the region.
      • Provide clear data-driven insights to senior leadership.
    • Risk, Compliance & Regulatory Management
      • Ensure full compliance with local regulations, trade requirements and company policies.
      • Manage risks related to logistics operations, including regulatory, operational and reputational risks.
      • Conduct regular audits and drive corrective actions whern required.
    • Team Leadership & Capability Building
      • Lead and develop a high-performing regional logistics team.
      • Drive accountability, performance management, and succession planning.
      • Build capabilities in logistics analytics, systems, and operational excellence.
    • Digital & Transformation
      • Drive adoption of logistics technologies.
      • Enhance data visibility and decision-making through digital solutions.
      • Lead transformation initiatives.
    • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or related fields (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 12 - 15 years of experience in logistics and supply chain operations
  • Proven experience leading regional/multi-country logistics operations
  • Strong experience in logistics, warehousing and network design optimization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in FMCG, Food, or Manufacturing industry
  • Strong financial acumen and cost management experience
  • Experience with SAP, TMS, or integrated planning systems
  • Proven track record in delivering logistics productivity and transformation
  • Experience in sustainability and CO reduction initiatives
