Job Purpose and Impact

As a Customer Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving commercial success by connecting directly with growers and broker customers, uncovering opportunities, and supporting grain purchasing activities. This is a dynamic, front-line role where you’ll proactively engage customers, generate leads, and contribute to growing our market presence.

You’ll build meaningful relationships through outbound outreach while also delivering exceptional service across inbound channels. Working closely with Territory Managers, you’ll gain deep exposure to regional markets and sales strategies—creating a strong foundation for future growth within the team.

This role offers the opportunity to develop both commercial acumen and leadership capability, with scope over time to take on broader responsibilities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Proactive Customer Engagement - Initiate outbound calls to grower customers to identify grain marketing opportunities, generate leads, support purchasing decisions, and capture valuable market feedback.
  • Sales Support - Assist in executing grain purchases and ensure smooth, efficient transactions between growers and acquirers.
  • Relationship Building - Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships that drive repeat business and long-term customer loyalty.
  • Inbound & Digital Support - Respond to inbound calls, emails, and portal inquiries with professionalism and efficiency, delivering a high-quality customer experience.
  • Field Team Collaboration - Partner closely with Territory Managers to coordinate outreach, share insights, and support regional sales strategies.
  • Customer Education - Guide customers through our digital platform, helping them confidently navigate listings, offers, and transactions.
  • Lead Generation - Identify and qualify new business opportunities through proactive outreach and customer conversations.
  • Issue Resolution - Resolve customer issues promptly and effectively, escalating where required to ensure timely outcomes.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Strong Communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Confident and professional phone communications skills

Preferred

  • Broad knowledge of Australian grains industry and regional markets
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Knowledge of Sales Cloud CRM or similar
  • Continuous improvement and innovation mindset
