Our portfolio includes poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa and chocolate.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Sales & Key Account, will be responsible for leading the commercial development of one of Cargill Food Mexico’s most strategic accounts, Grupo Walmex (Walmart and Sam’s Club), driving sustainable business growth through the development of long-term relationships, differentiated value propositions, and the execution of highly complex commercial initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams across Mexico and the global organization, as well as the ability to build strong relationships with key customer stakeholders to develop joint strategies that create value for both organizations. Additionally, this position will be responsible for coordinating and developing a commercial resource partially focused on the Food Service portfolio, leveraging synergies between both channels to strengthen market understanding and identify growth opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify, develop, and execute strategic growth opportunities through differentiated customer value propositions that balance customer success and sustainable business growth.
  • Create demand for products and services by raising their profile with customers.
  • Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.
  • Lead executive business reviews and strategic planning sessions with customer decision makers to identify growth opportunities, strengthen long-term partnerships, and align business priorities.
  • Develop and execute joint business plans that strengthen executive relationships, expand customer penetration, and accelerate profitable long-term growth through cross-functional collaboration.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across Commercial, Supply Chain, Technical Services, Marketing, Strategic Pricing, Finance and Regional teams to deliver integrated customer solutions, accelerate decision-making and support the successful execution of strategic growth initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience managing complex strategic accounts, preferably within the Modern Retail channel.
  • Strong understanding of the Modern Retail business and the food industry, including category management, portfolio development, and channel dynamics.
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining long-term commercial relationships with national and multinational customers.
  • Experience leading complex commercial negotiations and long-term strategic agreements.Ability to work effectively in matrix organizations and collaborate with regional and global teams.
  • Experience supporting innovation, portfolio development, and business growth initiatives.
  • Previous experience coaching, developing, or supervising commercial talent, including within smaller team structures.
  • General knowledge of commodity markets and their impact on cost structures and commercial negotiations.
  • Experience using CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce or similar tools.
  • Advanced/proficient English (written and spoken), with the ability to lead executive meetings and deliver formal presentations to regional and global stakeholders.
