This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Facility FSQR Lead France will plan, develop, and maintain all food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance systems at a site. In this role, you will lead the implementation of policies, continuous improvement processes, and systems, shaping the site’s food safety and quality culture while driving talent management practices. You will work closely with the local and on-site leadership team and report to the Site Director. You will also be a member of the Plant Management Committee.

You will lead an operational team of quality experts, consisting of around twenty people, including three managers.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a center of excellence for Quality, at a flagship plant.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure operational Quality follow-up at the production site: daily meetings, performance monitoring, risk analysis and associated decisions, action plan tracking, problem-solving, and standardization.
  • Ensure implementation and compliance of all food safety quality and regulatory policies and practices at assigned location.
  • Conduct certification audits and ensure the site maintains its certifications at the highest level.
  • Ensure implementation and compliance of all food safety quality and regulatory policies and practices at assigned location.
  • Implement predefined customer and supplier standards, address customer needs and act as liaison between customer and operations to ensure standards and expectations are met.
  • Support local leaders by building a strong culture of food safety, quality and regulatory compliance. 
  • Monitor regulatory activities and act as liaison with regulatory authorities at local level.
  • Analyze, review and interpret food safety quality and regulatory policies and practices to identify and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions.
  • You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (e.g., Agriculture/Agribusiness) or university degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the agri-food industry, microbiology, food safety, and quality assurance.
  • Risk management skills
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate cross-functionally, manage an operational team, and maintain direct customer contact.
  • Fluent in French and English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • British Retail Consortium (BRC) or International Food Standard (IFS).
