Job Purpose and Impact

The Travel and Expense Analyst is responsible for reviewing spend patterns to identify, qualify, and migrate appropriate spend to the existing Corporate Card program. This job identifies opportunities to eliminate non-PO and low value PO spend through card migration and provides data driven recommendations to expand and optimize card program adoption. This job also works closely with internal cross functional teams to support card adoption initiatives and shepherds projects to successful completion as appropriate.

Key Accountabilities

•    TAIL SPEND ANALYSIS: Analyze AP, P2P, and card transaction data to identify low value, high volume spend suitable for card migration. Segment spend by value, frequency, supplier/merchant category, and risk profile. Identify recurring merchants and suppliers suitable for card enablement.
•    DOCUMENTATION: Ensure alignment with procurement policies, audit requirements, and internal controls. Demonstrate ability to assess spend suitability for card usage with a control- and risk- aware mindset.
•    COLLABORATION: Partners with cross functional teams to analyze transaction data to distinguish between spend appropriate for card usage. 
•    REPORT GENERATION: Translate complex data into practical, business-focused recommendations. Ability to work with incomplete or imperfect data and still deliver clear, executive ready insights on tail spend composition, card adoption opportunities and compliance and risk indicators. 
•    LEAD MIGRATION PROJECTS: Act as subject matter expert and leader of migration projects to successful outcomes by successfully transitioning spend to cards to positively influence working capital and reduce transaction processing costs by maximizing card incentives.
•    CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Focused on simplification and scalability of the company’s spend by quantifying cost savings, invoice avoidance, and cycle time improvements. 
•    INDUSTRY EXPERTISE: Stays abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best in class industry standards in corporate card products and operating models.

Qualifications

•    2-3 years of experience in an AP, T&E, Audit or other position where required to analyze large amounts of data to foster improved outcomes.
•    Excellent English language


Preferred Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience as a financial analyst (AP and ERP data)
•    Previous experience with spend analytics and reporting tools (Microsoft Excel, Power BI, etc.)
•    Previous card and payments knowledge (card transaction data and MCCs)
•    Previous Procurement experience (ability to differentiate sourcing opportunities from process driven card opportunities)
