This position is in our specialized portfolio enterprise where we serve diverse businesses who support unique customers or markets, including animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial, road safety salt and Cargill joint ventures. 

Job Purpose and Impact

The Administrative Assistant (12 month term)  will provide administrative support to an individual, a small team or department. In this role, you will coordinate, integrate and implement assigned administrative or staff functions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform routine administrative work within established procedures, including bookeeping activities such as invoicing and check printing 
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, diaries and travel arrangements.
  • Assist with supplier accounts and vendor setup 
  • Enter routine data into standard forms and templates and archive paper and electronic documents.
  • Oversee the janitorial team and maintain janitorial inventory 
  • Receive and relay telephone messages from internal and external sources and assist with visitors and mail
  • Handle basic clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, secondary education level or equivalent
  • Strong computer literacy with extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
