This position is in our Food Enterprise where we are committed to serving food manufacturers, food service customers, and retailers with a complete range of innovative ingredients and branded products. Our portfolio includes poultry, beef, egg, alternative protein, salt, oils, starches, sweeteners, cocoa and chocolate.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Retail Product Auditor will provide quality assurance and food safety technical support. In this role, you will test and audit process documentation, collect data and provide analysis and support knowledge transfer. The person will evaluate Cargill products in the field and provide feedback on how the products are performing.  The auditor will also build a professional working relationship with customers, their associates, and consumers to get their insights, opinions, and ideas on how our products are performing.  The product evaluations and feedback will be used to inform production and sales teams of what is going well, and areas for improvement to help ensure our customers and consumers have a good experience with our products.  At times, auditors may be asked to help with gathering market info., or collecting samples to assist with investigations, customer complaints, and/or claims.  

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct product life cycle inspections that include raw materials, in process products and final products to identify trends in defects or errors and support more complex trials and experiments.
  • Contribute to data analysis and identify trends in defects or errors, report to senior level staff in a timely manner.
  • Assist to monitor critical quality control points in production; deliver final products by shipping plan.
  • Handle moderately complex clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong relationship building skills and desire to work with retail customers and consumers
  • Ability to create and sustain relationships through strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, able to set and follow priorities, manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Cellphone to communicate with team while at the store if needed.
  • Computer with internet access for entering quality audit reports, and email communications.
  • Flexible hours. (20 hrs. per week)
  • Ability to work independently and track hours, mileage, & expenses. 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. boxes during product inspections.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Food Safety and Quality Assurance
  • Knowledge of the Retail Grocery Store Supply Chain
