This position is in our Ag & Trading enterprise, where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions. 

Job Purpose and Impact

The Plant Manager will provide strategic operational oversight for all production, operating and transportation processes for the WaKeeney, Kansas plant and nearby state-of-the-art automated facility in Ogallah, KS. In this Agriculture and Manufacturing Supply Chain role role, you will oversee safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance. You will lead a team that is integral to the storage and transportation of Wheat, Sorghum, Corn and Soybeans locally and throughout the United States.

Key Accountabilities

  • Establish and deploy operational priorities for two grain receiving, storage and transport facilities.
  • Leads strategic and tactical operations and quality management deliverables to ensure customer, product and quality standard requirements are met within specifications.
  • Leads, directs and controls capital and operating budgets to achieve financial performance objectives set by the business.
  • Ensure and hold direct reports accountable for meeting and controlling operating expenses and established targets.
  • Oversee the overall operational management and efficiency improvements which may include standardization of plant information manufacturing systems, quality control, safety, production reliability excellence and maintenance and operator’s best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners including origination, HR, transportation and logistics, and maintenance.  Proactively engage with the community and customers.
  • Ensures employee, and food safety and environmental compliance program standards and goals are implemented.
  • Accountable for all internal and external operating and regulatory procedures on employee and food safety including strategic and tactical execution in alignment with corporate environment, health and safety and food safety, quality and regulatory functions as well as government regulations. Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed and extra hours during harvest seasons

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two or more years of supervisory experience
