This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Commodity - Crop Analyst will conduct complex trading analytics efforts. In this role, you will provide analysis of commodity markets and other economic considerations, development and deployment of complex models, tools and processes to influence decisions related to trading, risk management, margin enhancement and asset utilization.
Key Accountabilities
• Develop, enhance and execute complex tools, models and processes to forecast and describe price, supply and demand, relative value and global trends.
• Provide timely, accurate and actionable insights to the trading team and key customers.
• Partner with other analysts and team members to deliver complex analysis that maximizes our competitive advantage.
• Develop, coordinate and support initiatives related to technology and data for trading data analytics and broader initiatives in conjunction with stakeholders.
• Provide thought leadership for new data, technology, tools and innovation.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Conduct crop tours during critical growing cycles for US commodities
• Specific emphasis on corn, soybeans, wheat and cotton analysis

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Ability to actively collaborate with global teams to build consensus around trading strategy
• Knowledge of the trading business and risk management and an understanding of what information adds value
• Understanding of economics and experience with commodity supply and demand fundamentals
• Analytical reasoning and the ability to quickly take disparate information and derive accurate insights
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and execute solutions under tight timelines
• Minimum of two years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Proficiency in modeling, coding, data science and big data management
Additional Information
The expected salary for this position is $90,000 – $110,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
