Maintenance Technician (Part Time, On Call)

About the role
We are currently looking to recruit a Part Time Maintenance Technician to support site operations at our Worksop facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, hands on engineer seeking a reduced hours role within a fast paced production environment
Please note: This role includes a significant on call commitment, so we are looking for candidates who are comfortable with this level of responsibility.
Work Pattern
This role is structured around a 3 week cycle:
- Week 1: 6:00am – 2:00pm
- Week 2: 6:00am – 2:00pm
- Week 3: 10:00am – 6:00pm
Core Hours (Part Time):
- 2 days per week (16 hours)
or - Up to 50% hours (5 days over a 2 week period) depending on business needs and candidate preference
On Call Requirement (Key Part of Role)
- 1 full week on call in every 3 week cycle (Week 3)
- On call covers evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays (if applicable)
- A weekly allowance is paid during your on call week
- This is paid in addition to your base salary
- Additional payments are made for any call outs or site attendance
Key Accountabilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns
- Diagnose faults across mechanical and electrical systems
- Support continuous operation of production and site equipment
- Maintain high standards offood safety, hygiene and GMP compliance
- Complete maintenance documentation and follow permit to work procedures
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Previous maintenance experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or similar environment
- Multi skilled capability with both mechanical and electrical fault finding
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Flexible approach to working hours and on call requirements
Desirable:
- Recognised engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship)
- Experience with PLC fault finding or automated systems
