Meet Marina

Accountant Analyst

Marina’s career journey at Cargill began during the final stage of her higher education, when she joined the company as an intern in the Record to Report (RTR) department within Finance Operations. This experience gave her hands on exposure to real accounting processes and helped her understand how theory is applied in practice within a global organization.

After successfully completing her internship, Marina was given the opportunity to continue her career at Cargill, joining the ANH EMEA Spain team, part of the Specialized Portfolio, also within RTR. Since then, her role has gradually evolved as she moved through several positions, including GL Accounting Associate and Junior Accountant. Each step helped her strengthen her technical skills, gain confidence, and take on greater responsibility. Today, she works as an Accountant Analyst, marking a three year career journey within the company.

What initially inspired you to join Cargill, and what continues to make it the right place for you?

What initially inspired me to join Cargill was the opportunity to start my career in an international company with a strong reputation, clear values, and a structured learning environment for young professionals. As a student at the time, I was looking for a role where I could combine my academic knowledge with real life experience, and Cargill’s internship program offered exactly that.

What continues to make Cargill the right place for me is the culture of trust, learning, and internal development. Throughout my journey, I have been encouraged to grow and take on new responsibilities. The support from my colleagues and leaders, along with the company’s focus on collaboration and continuous improvement, has been a key reason why I’ve chosen to continue developing my career here.

How has your internship contributed to your growth and prepared you for the next step in your career?

My internship was an important step in helping me transition from being a student to becoming a professional. It gave me a clear understanding of what working in RTR involves and helped me build a strong foundation early in my career.

The guidance and feedback I received during this time helped me better understand expectations and gradually take ownership of my tasks. As a result, moving into my first full time role felt like a natural next step. The internship equipped me with both the skills and the mindset needed to continue my career at Cargill.

What do you enjoy about your team, and how would you describe the working culture?

What I enjoy most about my team is the supportive and collaborative way we work together. From the beginning, I felt encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and learn from colleagues with more experience. There is a strong sense of trust within the team, which creates a positive and motivating working environment.

I would describe the working culture as open, respectful, and learning oriented. People are always willing to help, give constructive feedback, and support each other’s development. At the same time, there is a clear sense of responsibility and ownership, which has helped me grow both professionally and personally.

In what ways does your work feel meaningful to you?

My work feels meaningful because I can see how my contributions support both the team and the wider business. Being trusted with responsibility and knowing that my work is valued gives my role a clear sense of purpose and motivation.

Working in a supportive and collaborative environment makes the experience even more rewarding, as I feel connected to both my team and the impact we create together.
