Job Purpose and Impact
The Advisor, Category Marketing Manager, Confection, Dairy & Ice Cream will identify, develop and lead the marketing strategy, priorities and investments across the Confection (Chocolate & Sugar), Dairy (Alt Dairy) and Ice Cream categories within the Food Manufacturing channel of Food North America. In this role, you will apply broad and in-depth knowledge of the business, market, customer drivers and category offerings to inform and direct customer engagement initiatives that accomplish business and financial goals.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide thought leadership in the development and execution of marketing strategy for the Confection (Chocolate & Sugar), Dairy and Ice Cream categories, incorporating brands and customer segments as relevant and in alignment with broader Food North America business objectives. Partner collaboratively with broader marketing teams to inform category value propositions, customer engagement strategies and portfolio gaps.
- Partner strategically with cross functional teams to understand and apply customer needs, competitor intelligence, market trends and consumer behaviors to drive where to play and how to win decisions for the category, improve overall positioning and advance customer value capture.
- Drive customer experience for the category, developing and activating differentiated customer value propositions in partnership with broader teams.
- Provide guidance on the development and delivery of marketing trainings, events and collateral for the category.
- Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to support team members and be a strategic contributor.
- Leverage and interpret syndicated, panel and primary consumer research to generate actionable insights and develop compelling, data-driven narratives that inform strategy, customer engagement and commercial decision making.
- Shape category growth targets and identify incremental opportunities by analyzing market dynamics, brand and company performance and aligning insights to Cargill’s ingredient portfolio capabilities.
- Identify and define growth opportunities within the category by analyzing market dynamics and consumer behavior to uncover the most attractive areas for growth including identifying high-growth customers and companies with winning value propositions and long-term potential, aligning Cargill’s capabilities to where we can win.
- Partner with Sales to drive customer engagement, leading customer conversations on category challenges and opportunities and orchestrating the Cargill capabilities network. Equip go-to-market teams with category knowledge, insights, and tools to support customers.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication or a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience
- Food Marketing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Cross-functional collaboration and leadership experience
- Experience executing marketing strategies and customer plans aligned with business objectives
- Experience in the confectionery, candy, or dairy industry
Position Information
- This position is open to candidates in Wayzata, MN or Wichita, KS.
- This position is hybrid and requires to be on site and minimum travel based on business need.
- This posting will expire on April 20, 2026.
- The expected salary for this position is $130,000 - $175,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
