Lab Assistant

This position is in our specialized portfolio enterprise where we serve diverse businesses who support unique customers or markets, including animal nutrition and health, bioindustrial, road safety salt and Cargill joint ventures.
Job Purpose and Impact
In order to strengthen the teams in our laboratory, we are looking for a Technical Laboratory Assistant. Reporting to the Technical Manager of the CAN France Laboratory, which specializes in Quality Control of Animal Feed, and working within a dynamic team of 13 people, your mission will be to:
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct routine inspections following the compliance program.
- Identify and analyze deviations to avoid environmental impact and potential risk to the businesses, report the serious one to higher level staff for guidance.
- Follow company environment and health and safety policies and procedures, identify instances of risky behaviors in the workplace and take appropriate action and escalate serious issues as appropriate.
- Attend audits, prepare required documents and ensure all documentation is completed, current and verified to support production management decisions.
- Handle basic clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- With at least a two-year post-secondary degree (BAC+2), you ideally have a first professional experience in a laboratory.
- To successfully carry out your mission, you have strong interpersonal skills, a team spirit, and excellent organizational abilities.
- You demonstrate dynamism and rigor.
- A good command of office software tools is essential.
