Job Purpose and Impact
Location(s): Schiphol (Netherlands), Sofia (Bulgaria), London (UK) Other locations in Europe may be considered but the successful candidate will need to be commutable to a major Cargill office location
Cargill’s Global Website Strategist will hold a crucial role, partnering with Global Communications, business teams, Brand, Digital Technology & Data (DT&D) and regional teams to highlight Cargill’s value proposition across our global audience, business units, tech stacks and regulatory zones. This is not a web admin who publishes pages on demand, the successful candidate will be a digital strategist, systems thinker and trusted advisor who guides Cargill stakeholders toward the best way to showcase their messaging to priority audiences (Customers, Employees, Partners).
The position will report to the Director, Global Communications - Operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Define and advance a long-term vision for Cargill.com as an enterprise digital platform, connecting audience needs, business priorities, reputation goals and emerging digital behaviors into a clear strategy for how the site should evolve
- Own and evolve the Cargill.com strategy, roadmap and operating model, prioritizing the highest-impact improvements to site experience, content structure, governance and platform capabilities
- Partner with Global Communications, Brand, DT&D, business teams, regional teams, agencies and vendors to translate stakeholder needs into audience-centered web solutions that support Cargill’s reputation, business objectives and priority audiences
- Establish and manage global web governance processes for publishing, permissions, workflows, CMS usage, content lifecycle management, brand compliance, style consistency and high-visibility communications moments
- Serve as a strategic advisor and systems thinker who guides stakeholders outside direct reporting lines toward web decisions that improve the whole Cargill.com ecosystem through shared standards, reusable approaches, scalable ways of working that make Cargill.com more cohesive, audience-centric and effective over time
- Translate the Cargill.com vision into measurable priorities, operating rhythms and decision-making frameworks that help teams align investments, content, UX, SEO/GEO, analytics and platform improvements to business outcomes
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 5-8 years overseeing organizational websites – including at least 3 years overseeing a site for a large, matrixed organization (B2B and B2C/ a website that serves multiple audiences)
- Have developed strategies for the website of a large, matrixed multinational organization, partnering with varied stakeholders, including those outside reporting lines, to implement this strategy
- Experience partnering with technology teams, agencies and vendors to shape the roadmap for enterprise web platforms – including CMS capabilities, component libraries, integrations, release processes, and long-term platform scalability
- Experience supporting web governance and publishing models for crisis, issues management or other high-visibility communications moments where speed, accuracy, legal review, and reputational risk must be balanced
- Led at least one sitewide redesign within the last few years
Preferred Qualifications
- Public relations, marketing, advertising, journalism or similar communications background in conjunction with Website technical skills
- A project management certification such as Lean Six Sigma, Agile or similar
- Leadership of an internal steering committee or similar center of expertise charged with rolling out best practices to colleagues outside reporting lines
