Job Purpose and Impact

The Facilities System Specialist III will use in depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment to install, repair and maintain complex computer based control systems that control and monitor a building's mechanical and electrical equipment. In this role, you will interact with customers, architects, engineers and contractors to install and service complex building automation systems and consult on actions that surround the facilities systems build out or reconstruction in commercial and industrial buildings.

Key Accountabilities

  • Inspect, monitor, evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues and strategize the adjustments that would improve mechanical and electrical systems performance for proper and efficient operation moving forward.
  • Plan and follow through with the installation, startup and set up of building automation system controllers and perform point to point checkout prior to project completion.
  • Coordinate contracted services to ensure efficient operation of complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with facilities team members as needed in safety, building system automation and computerized maintenance management systems to solve complex and varied issues.
  • Ensure the facilities comply with local, regional and federal codes and company building safety and operational standards.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability to operate computer operations applications
  • Experience with the interpretation of data and preparation of reports to support operational goals
  • Experience with the analysis of complex control sequences and resulting operations and develop innovations that solve difficult technical problems
  • Experience with and ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Building automation or controls technical training or certification
  • In depth understanding of building information modeling
  • In depth understanding of computerized maintenance management software for asset management
