This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Professional Data Engineer, builds and maintains complex data systems that enable the design and build of new and existing integrations with the o9 Solutions platform. With minimal supervision, this job ensures that large sets of data are efficiently processed and made accessible for decision making. In this role, you will be a member of an agile product team and will discover and deliver solutions for problems to enable the company’s digital future. You will apply knowledge of data engineering and integration to ensure solutions are scalable, resilient and robust. You will also contribute knowledge and hands-on experience with modern practices and technologies to the Digital Technology & Data community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• DATA INFRASTRUCTURE: Prepares data infrastructure to support the efficient storage and retrieval of data.
• DATA FORMATS: Examines and resolves appropriate data formats to improve data usability and accessibility across the organization.
• DATA & ANALYTICAL SOLUTIONS: Develops complex data products and solutions using advanced engineering and cloud based technologies, ensuring they are designed and built to be scalable, sustainable and robust.
• DATA PIPELINES: Develops and maintains streaming and batch data pipelines that facilitate the seamless ingestion of data from various data sources, transform the data into information and move to data stores like data lake, data warehouse and others.
• DATA SYSTEMS: Reviews existing data systems and architectures to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Collaborates with multi-functional data and advanced analytic teams, functional teams and business teams to gain requirements and ensure that data solutions meet the functional and non-functional needs of various partners.
• DATA FRAMEWORKS: Builds complex prototypes to test new concepts and implements data engineering frameworks and architectures that improve data processing capabilities and support advanced analytics initiatives.
• AUTOMATED DEPLOYMENT PIPELINES: Develops automated deployment pipelines improving efficiency of code deployments with fit for purpose governance.
• DATA MODELING: Performs complex data modeling in accordance to the datastore technology to ensure sustainable performance and accessibility.
• O9 SOLUTION INTEGRATIONS: This role is expected to specialize in o9 solution integrations. This includes:
• The analysis of business requirements and translating them into technical specifications for integration
• Develop and maintain integration standards, best practices and guidelines specific to o9
• Design and develop transformation logic in o9 using SQL/Python to support business rules
• Ensure data integrity and consistency between o9 and integrated systems
• Stay update on the latest o9 integration technologies and trends.
QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Related work experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Confirmed experience working with integration with o9 Solutions, knowledge of architecture, integration approaches and data models
• Proven track record of successfully implementing/ supporting o9 in complex business environments
• Excellent documentation skills
• Advanced English level
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with integration and implementation of Supply Chain applications (SaaS/PaaS)
• Proven ability to quickly learn new languages and platforms
• Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies
• SQL (O9 uses a proper language called IBP, similar to SQL)
• Advanced or Intermediate Spanish level
• Familiarity with Dell Boomi or other middleware technologies.
