Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Director – Regional Security – North LATAM provides regional-level security leadership and guidance across multiple countries for Cargill businesses. This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks across Mexico, Central America and Colombia while ensuring alignment with Global Security strategies, corporate standards, and regulatory requirements. The role operates with a multi-country scope, partnering closely with regional business leaders, functional partners, and the Global Security team. While this position does not have direct people management responsibilities, it requires strong leadership through influence, subject-matter expertise, and cross-functional collaboration. This role will be based in LATAM (Mexico City, Mexico; San Jose, Costa Rica; Bogota or Cali, Colombia; San Pedro Sula, Honduras; or Managua, Nicaragua).
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and develop complex programs to identify and mitigate risks in close partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- Partner with functional partners and business stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation of security programs across the region.
- Conduct site-specific assessments, oversee implementation of physical security controls, and advise on design and technology integration to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards across regional facilities.
- Monitor and analyze regional threat intelligence, collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance situational awareness, and translate key incident and investigation metrics into actionable insights and recommendations for business and security operations.
- Support investigations into security-related incidents, coordinate with internal stakeholders and law enforcement, and maintain documentation standards to ensure thorough, compliant, and effective resolution of cases.
- Serve as an advisor to provide operational-level physical security guidance to ensure compliance with corporate and governmental regulatory policies, standards, guidelines or procedures.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to regional leadership, influencing as a business partner, integrating physical risk intelligence into business strategy and operational decision-making.
- Anticipate and calibrate emerging physical risks precipitating from geopolitically centered situations.
- Translate complex threat environments into actionable insights that enable resilient growth, minimize disruption, prioritize security and influence strategic decision making.
- Influence security strategy, aligning regional security programs with global priorities while balancing risk mitigation, business priorities, and organizational agility.
- Lead the response to significant security crises, serving as the primary advisor to senior leadership by coordinating cross-functional decision-making, communicating clear physical risk impacts and response options, and guiding leadership through complex, time-sensitive situations to protect people, operations, and reputation.
- Independently, handle complex security issues with minimal supervision, escalating only the most critical matters as appropriate.
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in security, risk management, or related fields.
Demonstrated experience supporting multi-country or regional security operations.
Strong knowledge of and experience with physical security, security technology, investigations, crisis management, and threat intelligence.
Ability to travel 20–30% of the time within the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional security certifications such as CPP, PSP, or equivalent.
- Experience working within multinational, matrixed organizations.
- Strong understanding of LATAM security environments, particularly Mexico, Central America and Colombia.
