Sr. Field Assistant
Job Purpose and Impact
Senior Field Assistant is responsible to leading field operations at the division and estate level to achieve business targets. The key focus areas include managing production and harvesting, overseeing fertilizing and weeding activities, controlling operational costs, supervising and developing the team, ensuring the implementation of safety practices, supporting sustainability initiatives, and optimizing the efficiency of operational fleet usage. This role requires strong leadership, effective cross-functional coordination, and the ability to ensure that all operations run efficiently and in accordance with company standards.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop workforce plans and oversee the daily operational activities of the estate (TUS/TUP & Fleet), including guidelines for the annual program.
- Optimize the use of available resources to ensure smooth execution of work programs according to plan.
- Implement work programs in line with company guidelines, with a strong focus on improving effectiveness and efficiency (cost-oriented).
- Supervise the execution of work program allocations according to specifications, covering Harvesting, Upkeep, and fruit transportation/fleet operations.
- Verify personnel reports prior to submission to the Estate Manager.
- Coordinate and optimize daily fleet utilization, including equipment scheduling, operator assignments, and dispatching.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and lead the implementation of safety training, record-keeping, and orientation for operators and other workers.
- Collaborate with field supervisors, the Fleet management team, and ASD to achieve output targets and KPIs in line with company standards.
- Provide training, manage performance, and take responsibility for personnel-related decisions, including recruitment and disciplinary actions, for the integrated team.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in agronomy/plantation/agricultural/engineering/agribusiness/soil science/plant protection or equivalent experience
- Have sufficient knowledge regarding plant maintenance work and plantation production processes
- Have good communication skills throughout the organization, both to superiors, co-workers and employees below
- Could operate Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of supervisory experience
- Have 3 years working experience as a Field Assistant in palm oil plantation areas.
- Have the ability to communicate with all levels of stakeholders
- Have the ability to operate in a multi-cultural environmen
- Have analytical and strategic thinking
