Grain Origination Representative

This position is in our Ag & Trading enterprise, where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination, trading, processing, and distribution. We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Grain Origination Representative will represent the critical link between customers, strategic accounts and the company's customer facing strategy. In this role, you will translate regional and local commodity market knowledge into timely and competitive grain offerings for customers.
Key Accountabilities
- Identify potential customers and handle existing customer relationships.
- Focus on competitively positioning commodity offers in local markets to efficiently source them through our processing facilities while focusing on maximizing profitability for both customers and the company.
- Conduct market research and pricing, sales and merchandising activities.
- Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.
- Protect, grow and diversify the relationship with targeted customers.
- Support business growth by disseminating favorable information about the organization and its products and services.
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years of related work experience.
- Possess a valid Canadian Full Class 5 Driver’s Licence in good standing, authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment.
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of grain or crop inputs operations and products.
- Experience in customer management and account development.
- Experience using customer relationship management software (i.e. Salesforce).
Position Information
- Travel is required to cover the area of responsibility of up to 25%.
- This position is based out of McLennan, AB.
- Relocation maybe provided to McLennan, AB or surrounding area, if required.
