Job Purpose and Impact

The Advisor, Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures and Joint Ventures (MADJV) job provides finance leadership when executing on the organization's due diligence and integration strategy for relevant merger, acquisition, divestiture, and joint venture projects. As a recognized subject matter expert in this field, this job leads and mentors coordinating and implementing accounting and finance activities for pre and post close financial transition activities and collaborating to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of activities.

Key Accountabilities

  • DUE DILIGENCE: Influences to cultivate partnerships with third party due diligence providers and leads implementing diligence activities as assigned, validating sales, purchase and transition service agreements according to established finance minimums and advising on legal entity structures.
  • INTEGRATION & SEPARATION: Collaborates with finance planning, operations, accounting, treasury and tax teams to develop integration and separation plans for finance activities that include quantification of finance synergies, dis-synergies, and stranded costs, and leads third party valuation firms to support purchase accounting.
  • ACCOUNTING SUPPORT: Partners with accounting and finance operations teams to coordinate the setup of any corporate and local financial organization hierarchies, and maintain purchase price accounting or sales balance sheet model to ensure accurate statement of opening and closing balances.
  • RESULT REPORTING: Leads integrating results into current local, group, and corporate financial and management reporting processes across financial departments.
  • PIPELINE REPORTING: Advises on regular updates with operating segment finances leaders on the deal pipeline to inform risks and issues and align on integration or separation strategy and resource plan.
  • PLAYBOOK EXECUTION: Mentors coordinating and implementing financial due diligence and integration playbooks across all finance functions, including tax, treasury, accounting and finance, reporting risks and issues to corporate development or the integration management office on a timely basis.
  • POLICY MAINTENANCE & IMPROVEMENT: Leads and advises on developing, maintaining and improving the organization's due diligence and integration playbooks and checklists for merger, acquisition, divestiture and joint venture projects, ensuring effectiveness, efficiency and consistency while mitigating risks.
  • DRIVES INCLUSIVITY: Influences to build inclusive culture through modeling behaviors and actions and resolves raised issues in a timely fashion to appropriate partners.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 10 years or more of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in transaction advisor services at a big 4 professional services firm
  • Experience leading global finance teams on large scale M&A projects and ability to work cross other functions (e.g. legal, HR, IT)
  • Professional certification in account or finance (e.g. CPA, CFA or regional equivalent)
  • Ability to think critically and prioritize multiple engagements
