This position is in Cargill’s Food business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

The preferred locations are The Netherlands, UK and Poland. Applications from other countries will be considered.

Job Purpose and Impact 

The Senior Manager, Global Accounts will expand the strategic partnership with the assigned customer, a major global retailer. In this role, you will create demand for company products and services by raising the company's profile with a focus on the protein (poultry) category. You will collaborate with other teams to ensure defined customer needs are met.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement a tailored customer strategy to expand demand, improve margin growth and extend strategic partnership across multiple countries and segments of the protein (poultry) category.
  • Establish trust, mutually beneficial and long term partnership with customer, clarify mid to long term customer needs and develop and agree to a specification of customer requirements.
  • Monitor and measure the monthly performance of the objectives versus budget and implement actions to reach them.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on activities including development and delivery of promotions and innovations. Collect insights from the external market, understand competitors and trends, to define and deliver the tailored value proposition for the customer.
  • Build and nurture an internal network to deliver optimal solutions and effectively resolve issues. Including Product Line, Marketing, R&D, Finance and Supply Chain.
  • Use tailored storytelling that resonates with and inspires customers, that create excitement around our role in the achievement of their strategic objectives.
  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field, specifically around retailer strategy and protein (poultry) category management.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
  • Strong strategic mapping and business development skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience in understanding customer context, articulating customer objectives, uncovering customer key performance indicators, and adding value to partnerships.
  • Experience in business development in highly competitive, mature markets – specifically the protein (poultry) category for own label brands in Western Europe
  • Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 10 years or more of relevant experience.
  • English language proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • German language is a plus.
