Job summary:

The Professional, Benefits job administrates and or partners to develop employee benefits programs. With limited supervision, this job resolves moderately complex issues related to benefit programs and other employee benefit initiatives. This job also evaluates and analyzes employee benefit programs to ensure compliance, cost efficient and employee satisfaction.

Essential functions:

  • PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION: Administers and implements employee benefit programs, including facilitating enrollment, communication, and coordination with vendors.
  • EMPLOYEE SUPPORT: Provides guidance, education and consultation regarding benefit selection, and resolves moderately complex issues regarding the company's benefit programs, policies and processes.
  • PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION: Benchmarks the employee benefit programs against industry data to identify potential improvements in the implementation of benefits program and ensure benefits remain competitive and attractive in alignment with the organization's total rewards strategy.
  • PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Analyzes business and financial data in addition to insights from benchmarking, analysis, and research to provide inputs to the design and development of employee benefit programs that are competitive and cost efficient, align with the total rewards strategy, and meet employee needs.
  • STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT: Partners to develop and implement the benefits program strategy by conducting comprehensive analyses and recommending areas for improvement to ensure the benefit strategy addresses potential issues and aligns with total rewards and overall organizational strategies.
  • STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: Mentors managers, employees and key internal partners on state and federal employment regulations, collective agreements, benefit policies, personnel procedures and classification programs.
  • COMPLIANCE: Maintains knowledge of local regulations and the company's policies to ensure benefit programs are implemented in compliance with relevant regulations and policies, and implements the approved changes to maintain compliance.
  • PROGRAM ANALYSIS: Conducts employee research and data analyses to understand employee needs, preferences and satisfaction with benefit programs, and recommends adjustments to improve the design of benefit offerings according to the total rewards strategy.
  • VENDOR MANAGEMENT: Partners collaboratively with key vendors and internal cross-functional teams to stay updated on the latest technologies, tools and methodologies, and helps find opportunities to integrate them into program design and delivery.

Minimum & Typical years of work experience:

  • Minimum requirement of 2 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 3 years or more of relevant experience.


Preferred qualifications: 

  • Higher diploma in Human Resources.
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Ability to evolve in a complex matrix company.
