This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Global Grain and Oilseeds Trader will be a trading domain specialist and conduct face to face and remote buying and selling to both new and existing customers. The role will be working closely with the broader Cargill Grain and Oilseeds teams to leverage the supply chain, ocean freight, and origination/sales to identify and execute trading opportunities. In this role, you will independently generate income and control risks by performing more complex trading work, with a higher risk tolerance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Apply a deep comprehension of trading practices and procedures to develop and execute the long term trading strategies and books for a specific commodity, market or customer based on speculative and hedged positions. Monitor our team's profit and loss on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Independently handle and monitor higher trading positions and exposures.
  • Work with strategic brokers, customers and agents, as needed, to manage and monitor higher risk trading positions.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems.
  • You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum requirement of 6 years of relevant work experience as a Grains and Oilseeds Trader. Typically reflects 10 years or more of relevant experience.
  • Proven trading and leadership track record
