This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Port Operator will be part of a team of ship agents/ port operators to execute port operations of seagoing vessels and ensure vessels meet all company and legal requirements. Furthermore you ensure that all documentation and information is accurate and updates in a timely manner in all systems. In this role you will ensure compliance with company policies, applicable laws and regulations over multiple portcalls of vessels at the same time. You will partner closely and foster relationships with external parties. (authorities, service providers) in a variety of seaports.
Key Accountabilities
- Contribute to to develop relationships with key customers to meet specific customer requirements and act as main point of contact for complex issues, working in a 24/7 service schedule.
- Take part in processes with internal & external teams and stakeholders.
- Prepare and provide proper documentation.
- Plan, coordinate and supervise vessel activities to ensure vessels' best turnaround in port.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Other minimum qualifications may apply
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Spreadsheet experience
- Experience in transportation and logistics is a plus
- Knowledge of supply chain and operations functions
