Principal accountabilities:
- Produce dry salt from brine by operating the evaporator and drying equipment
- Operate and maintain the boiler
- Operate and maintain screeners, elevators, and salt processing equipment, providing product to packaging
- Understand and advocate safety rules and regulations
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Operate forklift
- Other duties as assigned
Required qualifications:
- Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-part employer
- Cargill requires employees be a minimum of 18 years old to work in a production facility
- Ability to work overtime, different shifts, weekends and holidays with advance notice
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc.
- Must be able to operate machinery
- High School diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in production related work
- Forklift experience
- Mechanical background
- Prior experience with inventory systems
- Working knowledge of MS Office Software with an emphasis on Excel and Word
