This position is in Cargill’s animal nutrition and health business, where we improve animal lives through better nutrition. Our team researches, innovates and creates solutions that deliver healthy results for our customers.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Dairy Innovation Lead (Open to Remote) will lead the vision of, and champion the product innovation pipeline and commercialization of customer solutions with technical, marketing and commercial leaders within the dairy nutrition and management space. In this role, you will identify and execute business innovation growth projects while leading, prioritizing and reporting on the innovation portfolio. You will provide industry-leading expertise to drive process improvements, and deploy the tools and metrics needed to support them while coaching and executing business innovation strategies.

Key Accountabilities

  • Partner collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to build an innovation pipeline aligned with business growth strategies and industry trends.
  • Design and lead innovation projects and independently execute development work, ensuring projects are appropriately resourced and executed.
  • Collaborate with global strategic marketing and technology, research and development and in-market dairy sales and marketing leaders to identify on-farm customer needs to develop new and existing products and solutions.
  • Provide expert thought leadership in the dairy feed and management space, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and partners across the technical, marketing, commercial, and Innovation teams to drive dairy strategic initiatives.
  • Compile and analyze data for project updates to quantify success and drive accountability. Report on innovation earnings, support business case development, and deliver and manage innovation project technical expenses.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and compliance of animal welfare and product safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a field related to animal nutrition or animal science
  • Minimum requirement of six years of relevant work experience
  • Industry experience in dairy, feed, animal nutrition, or agriculture
  • Practical experience in basic animal nutrition, physiology and health expertise
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in a field related to animal nutrition or animal science
  • Research skills
  • Experience in digital, automation and/or artificial intelligence
  • Customer-facing technical service experience
  • Project management experience
  • Experience leading non-core innovation originating from customer discovery

Applicant Information

The expected salary for this position is $130,000 to 180,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
