This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.


Job Purpose and Impact

The Electrical and Automation Engineer will help design, develop and maintain electrical control systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Participate in developing budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs and designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for industrial purposes. 
  • Apply general knowledge of principles, terms and practices of the electrical and automation engineering discipline to support the design and build of safe and reliable operations
  • Responsible to coordinate and provide direct support and delivery of services for an operation.
  •  Execute and support electrical engineering standards and deliverables in capital projects.
  • Monitor and support progress for projects with low to medium levels of complexity and ensure appropriate resource allocations and portfolio prioritization.
  • Inspect completed installations and observes operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Direct and oversee manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and design requirements.
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (Electrical or Automation Engineering)
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques in electrical area (instrumentation, automation, electrical installations)
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • English and German language knowledge – min. conversational level (B2)

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with large projects extending over a period of time
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively as an individual and in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong technical skills
