This position is in Cargill’s agricultural supply chain business. We sit at the heart of the supply chain, partnering with farmers and customers to source, make and deliver essential products.


Job Purpose and Impact

The Maintenance Inspection Engineer will perform routine maintenance practices, resource management and tools and processes controls to maintain and improve capacity utilization and quality standards realized through reliable operations. In this role, you will execute the work as selected and needed by the production team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Executes specific equipment maintenance for each asset involved with containing, controlling or safeguarding a high hazard process.
  • Maintains the mechanical integrity of new installations and existing systems.
  • Monitors capitalized repair and replacement projects, mitigate risk issues and remove barriers to ensure completion of milestones within budget.
  • Partners with vendors and handle contracts related to asset improvements and new asset project activities.
  • Ensures the ongoing mechanical and structural integrity of plant equipment.
  • Leads and executes quality maintenance planning.
  • Maintains the relationship and collaborates with the Authorities representatives in performing statutory inspections. 
  • Acts as point of contact for inspection companies coming on site to execute inspection programs. 
  • Stores and maintains documentation for legal requirements in adherence to the standards required by the authorities. 
  • Ensures that assets are prepared and ready for inspection activities according to the agreed schedule. 
  • Provides supervision during assets inspection execution to ensure that standards are followed and emerging defects/deviation from acceptance criteria are promptly identifies and communicated. 
  • Develops inspection plans for assets integrity purpose or leads and evaluate the inspection plans when prepared by a 3rd party partner. 
  • Develops test and inspection plans for new build equipment and assess construction and installation.
  • Proposes repair processes for assets with compliance requirement. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience (Mechanical or Process Engineering)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a relevant inspection area/similar position in a  complex site
  • English and German – medium to advanced level (B2 minimum)
  • Knowledge in plant operations and maintenance (food production, chemical or semi-chemical facilities)
  • Experience in management of scheduled inspections
  • Personal drive and commitment for M&R processes (Workflow) and execution effectiveness and efficiency
  • Analytical and conceptual goal-oriented approach
