Site Leading Hand - The Gums
The Role
In this hands-on role you will execute the site’s daily and weekly priorities and directly lead the team members onsite, ensuring they are trained and competent to perform duties across all areas of operation including but not limited to harvest receivals, grain classification, stack building, tarping, site hygiene, grain outturn including road and rail operations and general bunker operations. You will ensure work priorities are safety executed whilst maintaining a focus on quality and cost controls.

Key Accountabilities
- Execute routine operations of assigned area, ensuring direct reports are following policies and procedures related to employee, food and feed safety and environmental compliance.
- Monitor production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer and food safety requirements are within specifications.
- Partner with production supervisors to meet customer specifications and timeline.
- Administer production budget for a department, process, or shift and executes purchase orders and ensures timely payment of invoices
- Develop operational plans and monitors routine operations for all production processes for multiple departments, processes and shifts.
- Develop, supervise and provide coaching to direct reports including coaching company core values and guiding principles for assigned facilities or region.
- Responsible for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance and disciplinary actions for your direct reports. You will also spend time completing the same tasks as employees on your team.

Qualifications
- Experience with plant operations, front end loaders, implements and attachments, tractors, tele handlers, bulk material conveying and small plant and hand tools
- Experience in leading high performing workgroups with through proactive communication
- Experience within the grain industry or bulk material handling sector will be highly regarded
- Have a sound knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety standards with an ability and desire to promote a proactive safety culture and to stop and address unsafe work or practices
- Take a hand’s on and practical approach to work tasks and have an ability to problem solve
- Pass a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical assessment
- A valid drivers licence is a mandatory requirement for this position
