Job Purpose and Impact

The Director Digital Strategy and Execution will be responsible for creating and executing the Digital Technology and Data Strategy for Cargill Animal Nutrition and Health’s (ANH) North America business. This strategy will align with the broader Americas Regional strategy while also addressing market demands and customer needs. The role oversees the maintenance, integration, and implementation of software applications across North America. It will partner closely with business and digital technology leadership to develop and prioritize an investment portfolio aligned with business strategy. Additionally, the Director will lead a diverse, global team, providing guidance on software application testing, quality assurance, master data maintenance, configuration, installation, and support—ensuring smooth, stable, and timely implementation of new software and updates to existing applications.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develops and executes the ANH North America strategy for application and data in alignment with business goals.
  • Leads strategy development and execution for the application portfolio to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Establishes open communication channels with business leadership and offers broad oversight and guidance on the application portfolio.
  • Identifies and fosters engagement with key internal and external partners, understanding their needs and value drivers, and maintaining effective communication to ensure alignment and business success.
  • Monitors application performance and implements adjustments to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provides oversight of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Leads the team in performing advanced and complex application support activities to achieve business outcomes.
  • Manages team members to achieve organizational goals by ensuring productivity, setting clear performance expectations, aligning goals, providing feedback and coaching, measuring progress, and holding individuals accountable.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with software vendors and negotiates relevant contracts.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience in Application Configuration Management, Development and Deployment
  • Experienced in User Communication and Application Support
  • Expertise with Stakeholder and Vendor Management

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ Years relevant work experience
  • 5+ Years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with Animal Health and Nutrition
  • Competent in leading and managing a global team 
  • High aptitude in thinking strategically and incorporating business needs into technical roadmaps 

Short Description

External Posting: Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.

The expected salary for this position is $148,000- $202,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
