This position is in Cargill’s food and bioindustrial business, where manufacturers, retailers, and foodservice companies rely on us to consistently deliver the products and services they need, and use our technical expertise and market knowledge to develop innovative products. 

Job Purpose and Impact

The Facility Manager will provide strategic operational oversight for the Mount Joy Cocoa and Chocolate manufacturing facility. In this role, you will oversee and guide the local team to meet the site objectives.  Key performance metrics where this role will be held to account are: safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance. You will be responsible for the execution of operational strategies and tactics to achieve business visions and goals.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead your team ensuring all production and operations are completed safely and in compliance with team safety, food safety, quality and regulatory and environmental health and safety programs standards and goals.
  • Oversee execution of consistent and quality product while driving reliability centered manufacturing operations.
  • Responsible for strategy execution, management and compliance of capital and operating budgets and oversee the strategy of capital investment projects and spending.
  • Champion a collaborative team culture that delivers on customer needs of high quality, while operating and maintaining an operationally sound, safe and efficient facility.
  • Lead and own strategic implementation results of operational efficiency programs.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while leading and developing a team of experienced professionals and supervisors, coaching and making decisions related to talent management hiring, performance and disciplinary actions. You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
  • Operational excellence knowledge
  • Budgeting and operations planning experience
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience
  • Experience in a processing environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Seven or more years of supervisory experience
  • Experience utilizing Lean Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement methodology
  • Data analysis experience
