Job Purpose and Impact

This position will also play an important role in the safety and housekeeping programs for the facility by handling individual assignments and assisting with addressing facility near miss/incident conditions and projects. This position is also responsible for coordinating assigned portions of the preventive maintenance program.

This position will also be required to support operations by assisting in plant coverage where existing operations reliefs cannot cover shortfalls, plant areas will include but not limited to Preparation, Extraction, Weighbridge, Shortening, Packaging.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plant Coverage
    Operate and maintenance in various process areas throughout the facility in a safe, efficient and result oriented manner.

  • Plant Maintenance
    Perform facility, and equipment repairs as directed from the maintenance register/work orders and maintain spare parts per the location program. This requires the ability to trouble shoot and diagnose complex problems (mechanical and controls).
    Will require working at heights, confined space entry and operation within designated hazardous areas onsite as part of regular duties.

  • Preventative Maintenance
    Perform preventative maintenance, lubrications and inspections, per the preventive maintenance schedule and document as directed. This includes identifying repairs needed and submitting work orders to be scheduled.

  • Adhere to processes and procedures, and directions in relation to food safety and quality management.

  • Safety Management
    Adheres to work and safety instruction by taking an active role in contributing to building a safety culture.
    Does not compromise the safety of themselves or others.
    Will be required to complete Pre-Job Hazard Analysis documents and plant specific permits related to required tasks.

  • Food Safety & Quality Management
    Contribute to the development of a food safety culture and adhere to processes and procedures, and directions in relation to food safety and quality management

  • Administration & Reporting
    Reporting information regarding subsequent work required, preventative maintenance issues and completion of Work Order documentation Keeping up to date CMMS worksheets and equipment history.

Qualifications

To be successful you will require:

  • Confined Space Entry

  • Forklift Licence

  • Working at Heights

  • White Card

  • Minimum five years’ experience in a manufacturing and process environments.

  • Experience in working with industrial equipment, including flaking, presses, and conveying equipment

Preferred

  • Fitter Trade Certificate (TAFE or similar)

  • Elevated Work Platform Licence (desirable)

  • Lifting and Rigging (desirable)

  • Experience in working within a Hazardous Area (desired)

  • High adaptability and capacity for change
