Job Purpose and Impact
The Swine Nutritionist will provide technical advice and support to customers during and after product sales. In this role, you will be the lead contact for customers, and you will stay ahead of technology and business practices through workshops, research and professional meetings.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide onsite technical support for current customers and prospects.
- Provide customer solutions and technical support materials to specific customers.
- Provide formulations and solutions to meet the customer’s needs and optimize their success.
- Perform complex research for product development to understand product properties and systems operations.
- Compile and analyze data for project update, working with external suppliers to test new products and technologies to make recommendations on applications.
- Organize project data and conclusions for internal and customer presentations, assist with product demonstrations and service as subject matter guide during meetings with prospective customers.
- Stay ahead of product insight and research to improve value of offerings.
- Keep application and value collection up to date in the systems.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Ability to proactively perform sale management activities as assigned.
- Develop and implement strategy for designated customers to expand relationships, improve margin growth and deliver results for customers.
- Establish trust, mutually beneficial and long-term partnership with customers, clarify mid to long term customer needs and develop and agree to a specification of customer requirements.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in animal nutrition or animal science or related field
- Minimum of four years of related work experience (can include experience gained while pursuing master’s and/or PhD)
- Demonstrate the skills to understand the interactions between nutrition and performance and develop farm specific solutions to optimize customer results
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in animal nutrition or animal science
- Research skills, experience in running research trials
- Experience in basic animal nutrition, physiology and health expertise and the interaction between nutrition and health
- Knowledge of nutritional models
- Experience with on-farm troubleshooting
